Providing School Tag Rugby Coaching & Clubs and children's sports camps during holidays & half-terms, we focus on fun and participation for all!

WHY BOOK WITH PC&ROO?

In short, because we want children to have sport-based fun and play fun-based sport! Having set up a Rugby Club and coached on Sundays, Simon "PC" Peace & Alastair "Roo" Rigden set up PC&ROO to deliver fun, game-based tag rugby to Primary & Prep schools in Brentwood and the surrounding areas.

WHAT MOTIVATES US?

That’s simple. We want more children to have the opportunity to play and enjoy rugby: the best team game on earth! Are we biased?! With so much weekend sport on offer nowadays, our weekday schools clubs and PE sessions have introduced 1000s of children to rugby since 2017.

BENEFITS FOR THE CHILDREN?

#1: Safety. By learning rugby in Yrs 1-6 children start senior school already knowing how to play so they can focus on the contact elements that are introduced in Year 7 (in state schools). This is a key driver for us as it helps reduce the number of children in Year 7 who have never played who will be playing against some who’ve played for years.

#2: “Rugby is a game for all shapes and sizes”. A cliche but so true! Many children we’ve introduced to rugby have said they’ve found ‘their sport’. We have numerous stories from parents saying it’s great that their children found rugby. They’re brilliant stories to be a part of!

#3: Fun & Friendship. Lifelong friendships are made through rugby. You become part of the ‘Rugby Family’ and can make friends immediately in all corners of the world!

COACHES: Both PC & Roo are RFU qualified Rugby Coaches, with an understanding of both physical and emotional development within children. They understand there are different learning requirements for all children and seek to ensure the highest level of enjoyment for all participants. They are assisted by others during busy Sessions but always take a lead role.

Simon 'PC' Peace: PC founded Old Brentwoods RFC Acorns; the fastest-growing children's rugby club in the area.

RFU Level 2 Qualified, PC has a thorough understanding of coaching team sports, fun-based learning and most importantly how to engage children in sport across a variety of ages. His energy and enthusiasm is contagious, meaning his multi-sports sessions will not be forgotten!

Alastair 'Roo' Rigden: Roo assisted PC in the development of OBRFC Acorns and is presently Mini-Midi Chairman (U6-U12) and U10s Coach.

RFU Level 1 Qualified, his coaching is 100% game-based ensuring full enjoyment & engagement from the children throughout. He particularly enjoys PC&ROO Multi-Sport camps having enjoyed relative success in amateur sport: English Universities XI (Cricket), Herts County Rugby & Eton Fives National Champion (have you heard of Eton Fives?!). He’s also played Squash, Tennis & Rugby League competitively.
